What we offer:
Adult Counselling
We work with adults across the lifespan, supporting people to navigate a wide range of life experiences and challenges.
This includes support with:
-
childhood experiences and developmental trauma, including childhood sexual abuse
-
anxiety and stress
-
depression and low mood
-
grief and loss
-
relationship and attachment difficulties
-
and other experiences of emotional distress
We hold the belief that no one is “too complex” or “too difficult” to support. If we are not the right fit for you, we will always aim to support you in finding a practitioner or service that better aligns with your needs.
How we work:
We begin each session with curiosity and care, making space for whatever feels most present for you.
Therapy is approached as a collaborative process — we work alongside you to explore what is arising, at a pace that feels safe and manageable.
If this feels like the right fit for you please
Supervision
Sarah is trained as a social work supervisor and has supported a number of people as an external supervisor from both a social work perspective and a narrative therapist.
We also collectively have experience running peer supervision spaces and could offer this if there are a number of people interested in having some collective supervision/group sessions.
Families and Children
We have a strong interest in working with children and young people, offering a playful, creative, and developmentally responsive therapeutic space.
We aim to meet children where they are at, using approaches that support safety, connection, and engagement in therapy.
Where appropriate, we may be able to offer sessions in environments that feel safe for the child, including:
-
the family home
-
school settings
-
or other agreed community spaces
We are particularly interested in supporting strong and secure attachment relationships.
Where helpful, we may include parents, caregivers, or other safe and trusted people in the therapeutic process to support connection and shared understanding.
Our work with children is relational and creative, often incorporating:
-
play-based interaction
-
creative expression
-
storytelling and narrative approaches
-
attachment-focused work
We aim to support children to develop a positive and safe experience of therapy, where they feel understood, respected, and engaged.
Training
We are open to developing training around introductions to narrative therapy/meeting people where they are at/ creating supportive spaces
Adolescents
We have worked extensively with adolescents as they navigate a wide range of experiences, including social media pressures, anxiety, identity development, bullying, abuse, and depression.
We enjoy working with young people as they begin to explore and develop their own identities, values, and sense of self.
We have found that online counselling can be a helpful and accessible option for young people, allowing them to connect from the privacy and comfort of their own home.
Where appropriate, we also offer nature-based and flexible approaches to therapy, which may include walking sessions or meeting for a coffee and conversation (depending on location and suitability).
Workbooks
While Sarah was based in Arnhem Land and via funding from NTPHN she was able to collaborate with the Ramingining School, women’s shelter and local community members to develop several Narrative Therapy inspired workbooks from a social and emotional perspective. Click here for more information.
GROUP WORK
We are also very open to developing groups as we see so much potential in healing and connecting collectively.
We have been discussing groups around:
- Healing post premature birth experiences
- Grief and loss
- Survivors of abuse
- Women's well-being groups
This is something we will continue to develop and refine over time and develop based on the needs of clients/communities of people we are working with.
